Bargains!

Today we went to a Car Boot Sale at my school. Dad gave us some money to spend and I had some of my own money too so all up I had nearly $10 to spend. I bought some really cool things.

This is what I got:

This is the first thing I bought: a pony hairdressing toy that you can practice hairdos on. It was only $2 and the lady gave me all these accessories for it too.

I also got this doll's bed for a $1:

It is big enough to fit my baby doll in it.

This is one of the cool new jewellery boxes that I bought. The girl gave me a free necklace with it too and she let me choose which one I wanted. I chose this pretty flower one.

This is the other awesome jewellery box that I got. My friend's sister told me about it and then when I saw it I so wanted it and Mum bought it for me. It plays music and the ballerina twirls around.

I got a new wallet and a notebook and a Hannah Montana pen, but the pen got lost when Dad was carrying heaps of stuff to the car.
And I got some new headbands too.

This game was the last thing I bought. I really wanted it but Mum said I didn't have enough money for it. Then the lady asked me how much money I had. I told her that I had $1.30 and she said I could have the game for that much. She was so nice.

I had such a fun day shopping and then playing with my new stuff. My favourite thing that I got was the hairdressing toy because I can change its hair and practice lots of different styles.

Fun Run

Today Faith ran/walked the 2km Kids in the City fun run.

This is the first time she’s ever done anything like this, so she was pretty proud of herself, and we were proud of her too. In the past she’s shied away from things like this, she absolutely hated the Cross Country running at school, but when the boys signed up for the Surf to City she decided she’d give it a go too. She’s even keen to do it again next year, as long as Mum runs with her.

The weather was perfect, not too hot, but dry and no wind so we all had a good day at the park. On our way out we found the teddy bears picnic that was also happening in the park today, and so we stayed a while longer and joined in the fun there as well.

It was a tired but happy Faith that we tucked into bed tonight, bursting with news to tell her teacher tomorrow.

Well done Faith.

Back to school

Faith has just finished off the first week back at school for 2012. She started on Wednesday so it was a short week, which is a good way to start getting back into the school routine without getting too tired. She’s happy to be in Mrs Fallow’s class again this year, as Mrs Fallow has returned to the middle school after teaching in the Junior school last year. She had so wanted to be in Room 8 and was all smiles when her named was called in assembly at the start of the first day.

She was stoked to be chosen for Class Leader since she already knows Mrs Fallow’s way of doing things, and has jumped back into school life with gusto. She comments on things I probably wouldn’t have given much thought to, like how she loves her schoolbooks because they have small lines, instead of big lines like her Junior schoolbooks used to have, and how she hates it whenever she leaves the middle school block because the juniors are so noisy. Basically, she’s loving the idea that she’s a big girl now, and being back at school has really brought that home for her.

I’ve reminded her though, that no matter how old she gets, she’ll always, always be my baby princess.

First Post

As sort of a New Year's resolution, I've decided to keep a detailed record of the kid's daily happenings this year. 2012 is a big year for us. For Faith it is her first year as a 'middle senior' at school. So this right here, is to be something like an online scrapbook for friends and family to keep in the loop of what she's up to at school, as well as at home and whatever else the year brings to her.

I've sort of got a bit of an idea how it'll look, but as I play around with it, and as the year progresses, I'm sure it'll shape itself. Hopefully those of you interested enough to come this far will enjoy watching Faith's journey unfold on the pages throughout this year.

Happy 2012 everyone!
