On Wednesday Faith's class went for a walk to look at the war memorials, as part of their Anzac Day study. Along the way they visited a park that we didn't know was there, and so Faith came home and told Mum she really wanted to take the family there sometime.
Yesterday the weather was beautiful and everyone was home, so we all went for a walk so Faith could show us the cool new park she had found with her class. She was very excited and kept reminding us that she was 'the leader' and told us all about the war memorials as we passed them on the way.
It was a good walk. We took the dog, and stopped at the shop for lollies on the way.
The playground was very cool. We go to the parks nearby quite often, so it was nice to find a new one we didn't know was there, that is near our house and has some different playground equipment to play on.
Here are some photos from our time at the park:

Faith writes about our trip to Christchurch
Mum and Dad said we can go to CHRISTCHURCH. {Faith "AHHHH! I'm going to Chch"} |
My friend Victoria in Christchurch (Waiau) made this |
My favourite parts of our trip:
©
The wedding because we got to dance in a smoke
machine and I put my face in front of it where the smoke comes out and it stunk
©
I get to keep the little black diamonds off the
tables
©
The pools at Hanmer Springs
©
I got to meet my cousin Rochelle’s baby Jackson
in Christchurch. The baby looked cute.
©
I got to see my second cousin and we had a good
time playing and I scared him a lot and he did a robot dance.
©
I had a tiara and Annalise let me wear her
earrings and I got 2 necklaces and I got new gloves for the wedding.
©
I got to ride Uncle Charlie’s friend’s scooter. He
was at the back and I was at the front. One time I went to town on it and there
was a bumpy bit and I couldn’t put my window bit of the helmet up. Then after
that I could.
©
We got to have McDonalds twice for lunch.
©
We went shopping at the mall and I bought
push-down pens and a loveheart pad with the sticky bit at the end.
©
My dress had white spots and black all around
it.
©
At first I bought new earrings for Annalise
because I lost one but Aunty Karla found it so I got to keep the earrings and
they have got diamond bits and they are very colourful on the diamonds.
©
Aunty Karla let me have a petal basket that had
white flowers and black and white bows on the handle. It is so pretty and the
white is see-through.
©
I got to print some photos off to show my
teacher and I got to stick them on the wall in my room beside my bed.
©
When I got home my blankets were all off my bed
and I laughed and Dad was like “grrrr.”
©
We got to see Granny and Grandad in Kaiapoi and
Granny took us to the dairy and bought us all an ice block and Shane had a
smoothie.
©
At the wedding we had Kids corner and there were
pens, pencils and these twist-on crayons. They were Josh, Jordan and Amanda’s
stuff. They are my best cousins.

A post by Daddy
Faith and I went out today to the park. We took our dog Jools for a walk.
We went to the BMX track after the park for a look around. Faith
enjoyed throwing the stick to the dog.
Faith told me that the boys had been climbing on the roof of
the building at the BMX track and throwing car tires off it.
On the way home Jools kept going into people’s driveways so
we had to tell her off.

Family Time
Today was Waitangi today so the kids and Chris all had the day off. We went for a walk along the Forest Hill track.
Faith led the way for most of it, pointing out interesting bits and pieces along the way, and surprising us with just how fit she is these days! (She pretty much raced along the track and didn’t even get warm – I, on the other hand, was exhausted pushing the pram up the hill and actually said at one point ‘I’m just gonna have a wee lie down’.)
Faith has an eye for details, and she would notice the tiniest flowers and cobwebs and point them out to us. I found myself photographing things for her that I might not even have noticed if she wasn’t there.

Presents! Yay!
Faith, Shiloh and Mum went grocery shopping today, while the boys were at a cricket match. Faith really doesn’t like grocery shopping because she thinks it’s boring, but today she was a big help to mum by pushing Shiloh in the pram while mum pushed the trolley. She was a good big sister, taking care not to bump into people and not pushing him too fast, and Shiloh was giving her lots of big smiles and had heaps of fun pulling off his socks.
After we got home we were all very tired and relaxing on the couch watching TV, when the phone rang. It was Aunty Sarah, ringing to tell Faith that a parcel had arrived for her from Bella. Faith was so excited her cheeks went bright pink, and she ran down the hallway to tell the boys. They all went over to get the parcel. It was a new pair of sandals.
Bella has a pair of sandals the same, and when they visited at Christmas, Faith had been admiring them and Aunty Donna and Bella decided to get Faith her own pair. What a lovely Aunty and cousin. Faith has been wearing them ever since, and she says they are sooo comfortable she never wants to take them off!
